Our core network is powered by redundant Cisco GSR12000 Series Routers, which we have custom configured for BGP4 to provide you with the fastest path possible, as well as instant failover, which makes certain that even if one of our Providers circuits goes down, our Internet connectivity is still maintained and your servers stay online. Each server is capable of multi-homed, burstable bandwith. Our Network Infrastructure is NOC monitored 24x7 to ensure optimal uptime.
We provide high-speed, low-latency Tier 1 bandwidth from Mzima, well-known for their ultra-fast, highly reliable bandwidth. Along direct and private peering arrangements in Los Angeles, Mzima uses only high-speed transit from top providers like Level3, UUNET, Global Crossing and WIltel.
Additionally, our Data Center is also equipped an entirely independent Gig-E fiber circuit of low-cost, high-quality bandwidth from Cogent. This ensures that even if one of our circuits goes down, our Internet connectivity is still maintained and your servers stay online.
Mzima Networks Mzima Networks has designed a completely fault-tolerant network connecting to multiple Tier-1 carriers to provide the highest performance and reliability to its customers. Mzima uses customized, proprietary software in combination with BGP4 routing to make on-the-fly routing decisions, constantly analyzing the many possible paths customer traffic can take. Our expertise and focus is on routing and traffic delivery, allowing customers to receive the benefits of well-managed multi-homed bandwidth without requiring the expertise, equipment or associated costs, as well as receive the benefits of direct private peering with end-user ISP networks.
Internet routing is exceptionally complex and ever-changing. BGP4 routing requires a high degree of specific expertise and knowledge to receive the greatest benefit. This means constant policies analysis and adaptations, responding to security threats, and ongoing route optimization. Our team of routing experts makes this their primary focus, allowing customers to focus on their primary business activity, whatever that may be.
• Fully-redundant architecture
• Multi-gigabit backbone with over 5 Gbps of capacity
• SONET transit connections for self-healing fault-tolerance
• Multi-layer network design
• Customized routing policies for customers
• BGP best-path routing
• Automatic detection and re-routing around network failures
• Open peering policy allowing for local data delivery
• Carrier fault-tolerance
• Non-oversubscribed bandwidth
• Quality of Service monitoring and analysis
Mzima has built its network services platform to be the best currently available, and will continue to make architectural improvements and refinements.
Level (3)
Level 3 has built an advanced fiber-optic network utilizing Internet Protocol (IP) based technology. The Level 3 network combines both local and long distance networks connecting customer’s end-to-end. The company has 92 markets in service; 72 in the U.S. and 20 in Europe. See map below.
- Level (3) U.S. Intercity Network. The North American intercity network spans approximately 18,900 miles. - Level (3) European Local Network. The 9 European markets in service are London, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Munich, and Hamburg. All markets have their own Level 3 multi-conduit, upgradeable fiber network.
- Transatlantic. Level 3 transatlantic cable, spans 6,350 km and was activated in 4Q, 2000.
Cogent Communications
Cogent is the first and only IP data nationwide network in the country. Running at an unprecedented 80 Gbps, Cogent's dedicated bandwidth is unmatched by any other carrier. Since Cogent has so much capacity, your data does not encounter the "traffic jams" caused by so many other ISPs that overload their networks with more subscribers than they can handle. See the Cogent Network Map below.
With its own network, Cogent has 100% fiber both along its backbone and throughout its Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs). More importantly, Cogent takes its fiber the "last mile" into the building!
The Cogent national backbone is designed to operate at OC-192. The MAN rings at OC-48. Our Cisco Powered Network uses ring redundancy and protected optronics to ensure survivability and availability of service.
The MAN rings on Cogent's network are provisioned with a finite number of buildings. This configuration enables Cogent to offer each customer a fully dedicated, non-oversubscribed 100 Mbps connection that is not shared with anyone else. This approach represents a singular opportunity in the market place.
